The muscles of the core help keep you upright while maintaining proper posture, transfer energies between upper and lower body, keep your abdominal organs tucked in, protect your spine, create balance and stability and help with all movements. They even support essenGal bodily funcGons like digesGon, circulaGon, and even breathing. However, pregnancy and delivery have a significant and o]en long-lasGng impact on the core muscles affecGng the appearance of the abdomen and the funcGon of the whole body. During pregnancy, the abdominal muscles naturally separate to make room for the growing baby. Lack of Gmely diagnosis and no rehabilitaGon of the core muscles postpartum may NOT allow these muscles to come back together, leading to a visible bulge commonly known as a "mummy tummy." This condiGon, called Diastasis RecG, weakens the acGvaGon, coordinaGon, and strength of the core muscles.
